Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction: Realizing Greater Health & Happiness

Starts Monday, April 1, from 6-8p.m. through Monday, April 22, 2013 (4-weeks).

Learn how to reduce stress, lessen physical and emotional pain, and cope better with everyday demands. Ancient wisdom and modern medicine are blended in this workshop, creating one of the most effective workshops for health and happiness available today. MBSR

Price: $75.00 - includes instruction in mindfulness practices, workbook, and 2 CDs with guided mindfulness practices.

Mike Healy is certified to teach Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction by the Center for Mindfulness, has lead MBSR workshops for over 12 years, and is a registered Hatha Yoga instructor (RYT).  

This MBSR workshop is based on Jon Kabat-Zinn's MBSR program at the Center for Mindfulness, University of Massachusetts.

Yoga for Health & Relaxation - at the Mind Body Institute, starts Thursday, April, 2013

Yoga for Health and Relaxation is an integral Hatha yoga class with gentle warm-ups, movement with awareness of all major muscles and joints – back and forward bends, sun salutations, as well as balance, inversion, and spinal twist asanas. We end the class with deep relaxation, breathing practices, and a meditation. Enjoy improved health -flexibility, strength, and balance and a deep relaxed awareness of mind and body.

Gentle Yoga: Tuesdays from 5:30-7:00 p.m. Ongoing

Enjoy, relax, reduce stress, increase your flexibility and strength, and participate in your own health and well-being.

Includes warm-ups, gentle stretching with awareness (mindfulness), deep relaxation, and breathing practices.

This gentle yoga class is offered at St Gregory The Great Episcopal Church in Athens, Georgia located at 3195 Barnett Shoals Rd

Part II - Realizing Greater Health and Happiness Through the Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction Workshop

Integrating Mindfulness More Fully into Your Life

May be offered again in Fall 2013

This workshop is for those who have previously attended a MBSR workshop or who have a mindfulness practice. Deepen or re-ignite your mindfulness practice, learning ways to be more fully present. You will have an opportunity to reflect on your current mindfulness practice and its relationship to stress; explore mindfulness communications; bring more discipline to your practice; and identify and practice additional ways to bring mindfulness more fully into your life (e.g., exploring your relationship to food and eating, media choices, and more).

 

Ancient wisdom and modern medicine are blended in this workshop, creating one of the most effective workshops for health and happiness available today. MBSR - Part II/Advanced, is a continuation and deepening of the MBSR four week workshop.  

Offered Monday from 6 - 8 p.m.; $75 - includes mindfulness practice instructions, workbook & two CDs. Check back for Fall start date.
